Do iPhones come with a charger?
Apple stopped including a power adapter in the box from the iPhone 12 launch (October 2020). A 20W or higher USB-C Power Delivery adapter fast-charges every iPhone from the iPhone 8 onwards (with a USB-C to Lightning cable for Lightning models).
Wireless and MagSafe charging
Every iPhone from the iPhone 8 supports Qi wireless charging. iPhone 12 and newer (except the 16e) also support magnetic MagSafe chargers and accessories.
Choosing a safe charger
- Buy MFi-certified Lightning cables or reputable USB-C PD chargers.
- Avoid very cheap no-name chargers: they can overheat and damage the battery.
- Braided cables last longer than basic ones.
