How to move from Android to iPhone

Transfer with Move to iOS

1. Install Move to iOS from the Google Play Store on your Android phone.
2. Charge both phones and connect them to the same Wi-Fi.
3. Start setting up the iPhone. On Apps & Data (or Transfer Your Apps & Data), choose From Android.
4. Enter the code shown on the iPhone into Move to iOS on the Android phone.
5. Select what to transfer, including WhatsApp, and wait. Don't use either phone until it finishes.

Already set up your iPhone? You must erase it to use Move to iOS (how to reset), or transfer items individually: contacts via your Google account, photos via Google Photos or a computer.

WhatsApp from Android to iPhone

Choose WhatsApp in Move to iOS, then follow the prompt in WhatsApp on Android to "Move chats to iOS". Open WhatsApp on the iPhone with the same phone number to finish. For a second number on the same iPhone, many people use the separate WhatsApp Business app.

Setting up eSIM on iPhone

iPhones from the XR/XS onwards support eSIM, and the iPhone Air is eSIM-only. Ask your network (Vodacom, MTN, Telkom, Cell C and others) for an eSIM QR code or carrier activation, then go to Settings › Mobile Service › Add eSIM.
